Shooting Victim Airlifted To Maryland Hospital: Sheriff

A shooting investigation has been launched after a man was struck in a weekend shooting in St. Mary's County.

On Sunday night, deputies from the sheriff's office were called to the 46000 block of Radford Lane in Lexington Park to investigate a reported shooting in the area.

Upon arrival, they found a man - who has not been identified - suffering from two gunshot wounds and first responders rendered aid until he could be flown to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center for treatment and evaluation of his injuries.

The shooting is now under investigation by the sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division.
